Thule SnowPack Ski & Snowboard Carrier FAQs
Which Thule SnowPack size should I choose?
Choose SnowPack M for a compact setup, SnowPack L for maximum fixed-carrier capacity, or SnowPack Extender for easier loading on taller vehicles. SnowPack S is the smallest option for light ski-only setups.
What is the difference between SnowPack S, M, L and Extender?
SnowPack S is the smallest ski carrier, M is the compact ski and snowboard option, L is the largest SnowPack, and the Extender slides out for easier access. SnowPack M carries up to 4 pairs of skis or 2 snowboards with 50cm loading width. SnowPack L carries up to 6 pairs of skis or 4 snowboards with 75cm loading width. SnowPack Extender carries up to 5 pairs of skis or 2 snowboards with slide-out loading.
Will Thule SnowPack fit my roof racks?
Thule SnowPack carriers fit many modern aero roof racks with top T-track mounting, including Thule WingBar, WingBar Evo, WingBar Edge, SlideBar and ProBar Evo. They can also fit many Rhino-Rack aero bars and other T-track crossbars. If you’re unsure, send us a photo of your roof racks and we’ll check before you order.
Do I need roof racks first?
Yes. Thule SnowPack ski and snowboard carriers attach to crossbars, so your vehicle needs roof racks fitted before you can use one. If you still need roof racks, use our vehicle finder or get in touch and we’ll match the right setup to your car.
Can I carry skis and snowboards together?
Yes, you can carry a mix of skis and snowboards, as long as the gear fits within the carrier’s loading width. Actual capacity depends on ski width, snowboard width, binding size and how the gear is stacked.
Are Thule SnowPack carriers lockable?
Yes. Thule SnowPack carriers include locks to secure the carrier to your roof racks and your skis or snowboards to the carrier.
Can I fit a roof box beside a SnowPack carrier?
Sometimes, yes. SnowPack M is the best option if you want to leave more roof rack space for a roof box. Whether it works depends on your roof rack width, roof box width and vehicle setup. If you’re trying to carry skis, boards and luggage together, send us your setup and we’ll help check the fit.
What about the SnowPack S?
SnowPack S is the smallest option in the range and is best for very light ski setups, where you only need to carry up to 2 pairs of skis. If you need room for snowboards or more mixed gear, SnowPack M, L or Extender will usually be the better pick.
