Why Choose a Vertical Bike Rack?
What are the advantages of a vertical bike rack?
Vertical bike racks carry bikes upright by the front wheel, which keeps the rack relatively compact behind the vehicle compared with many multi-bike platform racks. They’re especially useful when you regularly need to carry three, four or more mountain bikes.
Are vertical bike racks good for e-bikes?
They can be an excellent option for e-MTBs, particularly when carrying multiple bikes. The Thule ReVert uses an assisted tilt system so bikes can be loaded while the rack is lowered, reducing how much lifting is required.
Does the Thule ReVert contact the bike frame?
No. The ReVert supports the bike by the front wheel, so there is no clamp around the frame. That makes it a good option for carbon frames, unusual frame shapes and bikes where you would rather avoid frame contact.
Is a vertical bike rack easier to load than a platform rack?
Platform racks generally have a lower loading height, but the ReVert’s assisted tilt system makes vertical loading much easier than it first appears. Once lowered, the front wheel is rolled into the wheel basket rather than lifting the entire bike high into the air.
How many bikes can a Thule ReVert carry?
The ReVert range is available in four-bike and six-bike versions, making it particularly well suited to families, riding groups and shuttle crews who regularly carry multiple bikes.
